Applying for a permit, looking for work, choosing a study programme or setting up a business? We help you understand where you stand and what to do next. We are based in Helsinki and work with people in Finland and abroad.

Where to start

What are you trying to do?

Pick the one that sounds most like you.

Work in Finland

We help you work out which jobs are realistic for you, get your CV ready for Finnish employers and prepare for interviews. If you need a permit to work, we can help with that side too.

Study in Finland

We help you find programmes that fit your background and budget, apply on time and prepare your student residence permit if you need one.

Start a business

Got an idea? We look at whether it can work in Finland, how registration and the Business ID work, and whether a start-up grant could be an option.

Move with your family

Moving as a family means more than one application and a lot of practical questions. We help with the permits, and with housing, schools and daycare once you are here.

Already in Finland

Something changed? A new job, a letter from Migri or a question about Kela? A consultation is the quickest way to work out your next step.

Help for your business

Running a small business or working for yourself? We can help with your website, social media and getting found online.

Our services

What we help with

Most people start with one of these. If you are not sure which one fits, book a consultation and we will point you in the right direction.

In Finland

The Finnish organisations you will deal with

Moving to or living in Finland means dealing with several public organisations. We help you understand which one handles what, and what they will ask you for.

FGC is an independent company. We are not part of, or partners with, any of these organisations. The links go to their own official websites, and they make all official decisions.

How it works

How working with us goes

No surprises. This is what happens from your first message to the end of our work together.

1

Send us a message

WhatsApp, email or the form on this site, whichever is easiest for you.

2

Tell us your story

The consultation request form asks about your background and what you are hoping to do.

3

We look at your case

We go through what you have told us and work out what really matters in your situation.

4

You get a proposal

A written proposal: what we will do, what is not included and what it costs.

5

You decide

If it suits you, you confirm, pay and we sign an agreement. If it does not, that is fine too.

6

We get to work

We go through the agreed steps with you and finish with a clear plan for what comes next.

Why FGC

What you can expect from us

Advice, not job placement

We are consultants, not a recruitment agency. We help you prepare, but we do not sell jobs and we never promise one.

Straight talk about decisions

Migri decides on permits, universities on study places and employers on jobs. We tell you honestly what is and is not in your hands.

Your case, not a template

Two people with the same permit type can be in very different situations. That is why we start by listening.

We have been there

FGC is immigrant-owned and grew out of years of community work in Finland. We know what it is like to arrive and figure things out.

Our story

How FGC started

FGC started as a community. In Finland Global Hub, our free peer-support group, we kept answering the same questions: permits, studies, work, starting a business and simply getting by in a new country.

Registering FGC as a business means we can now offer that help properly, one-to-one, with a clear process. We are immigrant-owned, based in Helsinki, and we work with people in Finland and all over the world.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Client experiences

What clients say

Real comments from FGC clients, shared with their written permission. We do not show names, only whether the client is from the EU or from outside it.

I was working in Finland and had heard different things from friends about changing employers and how it could affect my residence permit. I contacted FGC because I didn't want to make a decision based on rumours. The consultation helped me identify the conditions relevant to my permit and the official information I needed to confirm. I felt better prepared to ask the right questions before making a move.

Non-EU clientService feedbackImmigration & Residence Permits

I received a request for additional information about my family's residence permit application and wasn't sure what to do first. FGC helped me go through the questions and identify which documents and details needed further checking. I used the official letter as my guide when preparing the response. It made the task feel more manageable, although I still had to make sure everything met Migri's requirements.

Non-EU clientService feedbackFamily Members

I have lived in Finland for years and wanted to understand whether I could apply for Finnish citizenship. I had questions about my residence history, language certificate and other requirements. FGC helped me organise the questions I needed to check against the current rules. I haven't received any decision, but I now have a clearer idea of what I need to prepare before applying.

Questions

Questions people ask us

Quick answers to what we hear most often. For anything about your own case, a consultation is the better route.

Is FGC a recruitment agency?

No. Finland Global Consulting is a consultancy. We provide professional guidance, preparation and practical support. We do not place people in jobs, and we never promise employment.

Can FGC guarantee a residence permit, a study place or a job?

No. Residence permits are decided by the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri), study places by universities and other institutions, and job offers by employers. We help you understand the requirements and prepare well, but the decision always remains with them.

Do you work with clients outside Finland?

Yes. FGC is based in Finland and works with clients worldwide, including people who are planning a move and people who already live in Finland. Consultations can take place remotely.

Do you help both EU and non-EU citizens?

Yes. We work with EU/EEA and Swiss citizens as well as people from outside the EU. The rules that apply can be very different, which is why we look at each situation individually.

Is FGC a free service?

No. FGC is a paid professional consultancy. After you receive a personalised proposal, you can book a free call to discuss it before you decide. That call is about the proposal and a possible agreement, not the consultation itself. Finland Global Hub is a separate, free peer-support community for sharing experiences and helping newcomers. It does not replace FGC’s professional services.

Personal consultation

Not sure where to start?

That is completely normal. Tell us a little about your situation and we will help you work out your options and the next step.
