Consumer prices rose 2.5 per cent year on year in September, up from 2.2 per cent in August. Fuel and heating oil pushed prices up; electricity held them back.

Statistics Finland reported consumer price inflation of 2.2 per cent in August 2026. A preliminary harmonised figure for September 2026 was 2.6 per cent.

From 1 January 2027, Kela will use a new calculation model for the maximum housing costs accepted in social assistance. Limits will rise in some municipalities and fall in others.
